Wetland is praised as "the kidney of the earth", "the cradle of life"," the storeroom of species gene"," the birthplace of civilization" etc..., it fully reflects the importance of wetland to global ecological system. The organic component of the global ecosystem is composed by wetland ecosystems, terrestrial ecosystems and marine ecosystems. With the co-action of the natural factors and human factors, since the 1980s to 2005, the coastal wetland of Pearl River Estuary has undergone tremendous changes. In particular, the predatory development from the human makes the coastal wetland resources of Pearl River Estuary decrease and the ecological environment deteriorate continually. It also results in huge losses to people's production and life.With the adoption of advanced remote sensing technology and GIS technology, we made a investigation of wetland recourse in Pearl River Estuary within a buffer of 5 kilometers. In allusion to the three periods of historical data, collected in the research area, the thesis makes a coherent process on the classification system, and focuses on the analysis of the data in 1995 and 2005 year of Pearl River Estuary. To evaluation the wetland data of 1995 and 2005 by the view of landscape ecology by computing landscape diversity, landscape dominance index, landscape fragmentation index, landscape evenness index and even patch area index. The research result makes a scientific basis for developing and protecting Pearl River Estuary coastal wetland. |
