Metallic Schiff base complexes are of considerable interest because of the variable structures and potential application in magnetic, luminescence and electrochemical behavior. Two series include 12 kinds of metallid Schiff base complexes have been synthesized with N,N′-bis(2-oxy-3-methoxybenzylidene)-1,2 -diaminocyclohexane in this paper. The complexes have been characterized by Elemental analyses, Infrared(IR), Ultraviolet-Visible(UV), Thermal gravimetric. 4 kinds of single crystal of complexes have been developed by solvent diffusion and have been structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray crysrallographic analysis. The composition of mononuclear lanthanide complexes accorde with [LLn(NO3)3]2 [Ln = La (1), Pr (2), Eu (3), Gd (4), Tb (5) & Lu (6)] and 3d-4f heterobinuclear complexes accorde with [{LCu}Ln(NO3)3] [Ln = La (7), Pr (8), Eu (9), Gd (10), Tb (11) & Lu (12)], All of the 12 lanthanide complex is 0-D monomolecular structure. Furthermore, the fluorescence spectra analyses shows that the luminescence of mononuclear complexes is ligand-centered emission. The magnetic properties of complexes 4 and 10 have been investigated. Complex 4 show an an antiferromagnetic interaction among metallic ions. Complex 10 show ferromagnetic interaction among metallic ion.The cyclic voltammogram of 3d-4f complexes and LCu show that the electron accepting ability of Cu(II) ion is increased by the complexation of lanthanide(III) ionin contrast to mononuclear copper complex, and the coordination geometry of Cu(II) is more steadily.
