As a kind of top grade pigment, mica pearlescent pigments(MPP) are widely used in many fields for their jewelly tinct and excellent properties. Domestic pearlescen product industry has beginning late and now is in elementary stage. There are many problems. For example, the pearlescent luster is faint, the color is unpure; when preparing some sole tone MPP, people often cannot obtain the anticipated tone.Fluorescence material in visible light area was used as ornament film and red MPP coated by Y2O3:Eu was prepared. On base of keeping pearly luster performance of MPP, pearlescent pigment's color change can be realized by fluorescence material.Liquid polymerization method for preparation of MPP coated by Y2O3:Eu was proposed. Using silvery white MPP disposed as backing material, sifting the effects of operations on pearl effect of MPP. Best producing technology parameters were gained according to the above-mentioned step. Idiogrphic parameters containing ammonia as precipitator, concentration of mica-titanium with 8%; concentration of precipitant with 7%; the stirring speed with 170r/min; reaction temperature with 70℃; pH with 7; the best calcining temperature and time with 850℃and 2h. By detecting measures of SEM,XRD,EDS, consistency, tructure and appearance of pigment was reviewed.With the best technological conditions, MPP coated by Y2O3:Eu was made. Taking 350nm as excitation wavelength, the maximum emission peak was at 632nm. According to relationship between cladding ratio and reflectance ratio, relative ratio of pigment, the cladding ratio was determined with 20.98% and the pigment has a high luminous intensity and good pearlescent effect.The successful development as mentioned above can not only provide theory instruction for the volume production of color MPP, but bring the great economic efficiency for the production and application domains. Therefore, the reserch is of great significance.
