This research project originate from sub-project named the process research of new enviormental friendly of hydrometallurgical deco mposition of molybdenite of the key technologies research on efficient development and utilization of DeXing copper minerals in the "eleventh five" national science and technology support projects.Aimed at defects of present decomposition process of molybdenite such as SO2 pollution, low resource utilization and high energy comsuption, the acidic chlorate solution leaching process was employed to oxidate molybdenite based on the analysis of character of acidic chlorate solution. This process take advantage of short flow , lower energy consumption , high valuable metal recovery to other hydrometallurgy pro cess. Meanwhile, this process is easily combined to the following process such as solvent extration to develop full-hydrometallurgical p rocess, which have bright application potential. All factors influenced leaching rate such as the consumption of sodium chlolate , sodium chloride and sulfuric acid , the ratio of liquid to solid, reaction time, reaction temperature are investigated by singal factor method. Leaching rate of Mo reached 99.79% under the optinum reaction condition. At same time, the thermodynamics propertices including enthalpy ,entropy and gibbs free energy change during the reaction was calculated. The dynamics experiments revealed that the leaching reaction was matched very well to the unreacted shrinking reaction core model and was under the chemical reaction control. The following solvent extration and stripping process as well as extration mechanism of Mo were carried out.The optinum condition of extration and stripping were obtained based on experiments, which was 97.20%, and 99% . The total recovery of Mo in this process was 95.95%. Finally, equimolar series method and saturated capacity method were employed to investigate the extration mechanism of Mo by N235 ,by which the extration mechanism equation under very different pH value were obtained.
