Compared with manual cleaning, mechanical cleaning, chemical cleaning, high-pressure water jet cleaning technology has several advantages, such as no damnification to cleaned objects, no pollution to environment, low operating cost and high efficiency. The nozzle is the key part of water jet equipment, its efficacy is not only to transfer the high pressure, low velocity water into low pressure, high velocity water jet, but also to ensure the good dynamic characteristics of the water jet.Focusing on the fan-shaped nozzle which used in high pressure water jet cleaning, the characteristics of the high pressure water jet and the fan-shaped nozzle's structure were analyzed, From aspects of the nozzle's internal flow field, water jet characteristics and its abrasion, the finite elements models of the nozzles' internal flow field were set up; the nozzles' internal flow fields were simulated by using CFD software. By numerical simulation analysis, how the fan-shaped nozzle's structure influences its internal flow field, pressure and velocity of the water jet is obtained. From analyzing the fan-shaped nozzle's abrasion mechanism and the anti-abrasion methods, a new-styled structure of the nozzle's orifice was promoted, requirements about the nozzle's material, machining method and the water jet generating system were promoted.Based on experiment, how the fan-shaped nozzle's structure influences its flow rate, spray angle, impacting force of the water jet was analyzed. A comparative experiment was set up to compare the abrasion of the fan-shaped nozzles with different orifice structure but identical working condition.
