The main characteristic of copper ore resources in our country is that the poor are more than the rich. Copper Oxides account for one quarter of the total reserves of copper ores in our country. But most of them have not been exploited and used efficiently because of their highly-oxidized rate and slime. Therefore, to study and utilize this kind of copper oxides with suitable methods has great importance theoretically and practically.In this paper, mineral samples were collected from a copper mine of Yunnan province.The run of mine ore contains copper of 1.70%. The oxidization rate of the ore is 80.12%.The combination rate is 24.56%. The composition of the cocopper ore is very complicated. The copper minerals are distributed in the ore in the fine. The ore is belonged to copper oxide of high oxidization rate, high combination rate, high content of clay and silicon. The groping flotation tests contain direct flotation with copper oxide collectors and the normal flotation through adding the sodium sulfide.The results show that the mineral samples can not be recycled by flotation method.The copper oxide was treated by method of mixed acid leaching - extracting– electrowinning on the normal temperature and pressure. Under the conditions of grinding mesh of -0.074mm accounted for 84.43%, liquid-solid rate of 4:1, sulfuric acid concentration of 2 mol/L, mixing intensity of 300r/min, leaching time of 5 hours, the copper leaching rate is up to 85%, the copper grade in the leaching residue is about 0.28%, copper ions concentration in the leaching solution is about 2.50g/L, the test achieved good indicators of leaching. In the test of extracting of leaching solution, under the conditions of extractant concentration of 15%, extracting time of 90s, extracting volume ratio of 1:3(O/A), the copper extracting rate can reach 96.27%. In the test of stripping extracting of loaded organic phase with sulfuric acid, under the conditions of stripping extractant concentration of 2 mol/L, stripping extracting time of 120s, stripping extracting volume ratio of 3:1(O/A), The copper stripping extracting rate is up to 99.60%. In the test of electrowinning of solution which is rich in copper after stripping extracting, using copper electrode as cathode materials, lead-antimony alloy electrode as anode material, maintaining the polar distance of 6cm, under the conditions of electric current density of 200 A/m2, electrowinning temperature of 50℃, electrowinning time of 1 hour. Qualified cathode copper can be received.In the leaching process, the temperature has a great influence on the leaching rate. As the temperature increased, the leaching rate increases. Leaching time required to reach equilibrium can be shorten.Before the leaching process reach equilibrium, the leaching rate and leaching time can be fitted into a straight line. Acid leaching of copper oxide is belonged to the leaching reaction of no solid product layer, the kinetic model can be described as the shrinking core model, the leaching process is controlled by chemical reaction, the activated apparent energy is 50.591 kJ/mo1.
