One trend of the tray configuration developed is combination tray which composite of different tray. CTST and F1 floating valve tray are all excellent trays, each has its own characteristics, studies on the two composite have just started. The study of the liquid flow fields on the tray and hydrodynamics performance are the theoretical bases for the tray optimization and the practical application. The development of CFD provides another good way for these research.CTST-F1 combination tray liquid flow fields on the tray mathematical model was established, then we simulated the model using Fluent software. The results showed that: when the CTST and F1 valve arranged separately (combination way 1), the flow field in their respective regions to maintain its own characteristics, between the less affected. When the two trays mixed (combination way 2), the interaction between them is larger. According to the bubbling of valve, the bottom gap department CTST gas rate of combination way 2 increase, and the liquid around in CTST obvious reflux. Simulation of Fluid Flow fields from the overall results, for the back mixing flow conditions, the composite mode 1 is better than combination way 2.The hydrodynamic behavior of the combination way 2 was studied with air-water system in the cold model volume with inside diameter of 570mm. The variation of liquid height, pressure drop and entrainment were obtained. The hydrodynamics performance of two combination trays were compared. In the same liquid flow rate, liquid height of combination way 1 first decreased and then increased with the growth of F0-factor, the growth of combination way 2 was smooth rising curve. On the whole, the liquid height of combination way 2 is higher than combination way 1, and the pressure drop is larger than the combination way 1; But the entrainment of combination way 2 is far less than the combination way 1.
