As the society pays more and more attention to problems of energy sources and environments, higher requirements have been put forward to the transparent and heat insulating performance of the glass. Having high transparency in visible light and effective infrared-insulating performance, nano-metered indium tin oxide (In2O3-SnO2) is an ideal transparent and heat-insulating material. Due to the metal indium was scarce resources, indium material was expensive. Therefore, in the transparent insulation In2O3-SnO2 coating material, need strengthening technology research, ensure transparent insulation effect under the premise of indium usage, which reduced the production cost.In this paper, In2O3-SnO2 nano-powders were prepared by chemical co-precipitation method and hydrothennal method. Research shows that hydrothennal method prepared In2O3-SnO2 nanoparticles crystallinity and better than chemical co-precipitation method.The different In/Sn of In2O3-SnO2 nanoparticles were prepared by chemical co-precipitation method. The effect of different In:Sn ratio on the crystal structure, microstructure, electrical properties of the nanoparticles were investigated. The results showed that the Hydrothennal method were better than chemical co-precipitation method.The Crystal structure of In2O3-SnO2 nanoparticles were changed with the In:Sn ratio.While In:Sn ratio was greatter than 1:1, In2O3-SnO2 crystallized in cubic bixbyite structure. While In:Sn ratio was neared 1:1,it was observed that the cassiterite phase of SnO2 was present along with the cubic phases of In2O3. While In:Sn ratio was smaller than 1:1, it was cassiterite phase of SnO2. The results also showed that the conductance of tin doped indium oxide was better than mixture of tin oxide and indium oxide, indium doped tin oxide. While In:Sn=10:1, the conductance of In2O3-SnO2 nanoparticles was 37.3S/cm,and when In:Sn=4:1,the conductance was next place was 4.3S/cm.The dispersion technics and coating prepared technics were investigated. The results showed that the optimum dispersant and it's content in dispersion system is PVP and 10% of the weight of nano partieles. The optimum dispersion method was combination of both ultrasonic 15min and milling 24h dispersion methodse,which can acquire stabled In2O3-SnO2 ethanol slurry. High performance transparent and heatinsulating coating prepared by adding acrylate film-forming agent to ethanol slurry of In2O3-SnO2 nanoparticles.The transparent and insulation thin coatings is prepared by dip-coating on the substrate. The curing technics and coating prepared technics were investigated, and the effect of In2O3-SnO2 additives and doping of indium tin on coating mechanical properties, optical properties and insulation effect were investigated. Results showed that the maximum factor of effect on thickness was dip-coating temperature, the next place was dip-coating rate, the minimum was dip-coating number. The optimum curing technics was 120℃drying for 4h, then the pencil hardness of coatings was 3H, the level of adhesion force was 0. The Larger of In2O3-SnO2 additives, the better of mechanical properties, the higher visible light transmittance, but heat-insulation effect increased. When the content of solid of ethanol slurry was 10% and slurry and resin volume mixing ratio of 1:1, the transparent insulation properties was best, visible transmittance was higher than 75%. By using our heat-insulation performance test device to test, the range of temperature were more than 5℃to empty glass. The infrared blocking rate of coatings was reduce whith Sn content increases. When In:Sn=4:1 the insulation effect was good, the infrared blocking rate was 78%, when In:Sn=10:1 the infrared blocking rate was 80%.In2O3-SnO2 transparent insulation nanocomposite coating with good mechanical properties, water resistance, alkali resistance and solvent resistance, has high transparency and significant insulation effect. In addition, it has the advantages of simple process and low cost. So it has extremely high value of practical application and wide market prospects.
