There is a close relation between the composition of architectures and the inheritance of tradition. On one hand, tradition can promote architectural composition. On the other hand, it can also limit our ideas. The key depends on our attitudes to tradition, which involve how to inherit and develop tradition.In how to composite on the basis of tradition, there has been a dispute about similarity in shape and similarity in spirit in our country. In my opinion, they are only the manifestations of the creative outcome. There is a deep law behind them. Therefore, what the paper studies are not similarity in shape and similarity in spirit but that explore the law behind them from deeper degree. People live in certain environment, which affects their views of value. Accordingly, they have all kinds of needs. In order to meet these needs, they will take some proper approach. In this way, the information of the approaches will hide in form. By the way, form itself includes certain information. With time goes by, those will become tradition. In one sense, we should pay more attention to traditional craft except for form, i. E. We should inherit predecessor's experience that they resolve problems. This paper starts out from this idea. Aiming at various needs, we collect relevant data that can solve need, and see it as prototype of architectural composition. Through analyzing prototype' surface structure, prototype's deep structure and the relation between them, we make architectural composition from architectural surface structure to architectural deep structure, from architectural form to its information. Architectural composition gets rid of the game of form piecing. Whereby, the development of architecture depends on information delivery. By analyzing architecture 'deep structure, I find the fact that it is composed by many elemental factors, which are elemental information units. Architectural composition enters microcosmic level. By studying the extract, evolution, integration, transfer and expression of elemental factors, in the elemental factor level, I analyze the internal regularity of the development of architecture fromgradation-similarity in shape and similarity in spirit- to transmutation-unlikeness, and form the view of integral development about architectural composition. Then, the method of architectural composition based on prototype. At last, by using it as a tool, I analyze the meaning of Tuzhang-house in the contemporary era.
