The wheel weight test instrument is an intelligent electronic instrument which has two work modes. Working together with a certain mechanical instrument, it can measure the weight of the vehicle depending on the user's need.The major technique of the instrument is such as raster sensor, ARM controller, CPLD and PIC application design。The instrument is based on ARM controller,CPLD and PIC. In adjusting work mode, ARM processor obtains the original datum, and transmits the coefficients which have computed by the arithmetic to the memory of the main controller. In test work mode, the weight which gets from the special mechanical implement is passed to the special pressure vessel. Then the raster sensor tests the offset of the piston of the vessel and transmits it into orthogonal two load sine signals. The instrument samples the sine signal and using CPLD counts the number of the sampling impulses. After the system controller reads the counter of sampling impulse, it transfers the offset into the real number and computes the weight using curve fitting algorithm. At last it transmits the weight data to the display processor, and the display processor controls the display of LED. Then the wheel weight is measured.Integrated with the control subsystem, it is a important job to realize the automatic measure of the wheel weight. After carefully designing, we successfully complete all the technical targets that user requests. This instrument has many merits, such as simple framework, safety, convenience, highly reliability, strong capability of EMC, easy to update and so on.
