Studies On Pharmacognosy Of Gueldenstaedtia Multiflora Bge., Gueldenstaedtia Stenophylla Bge. And Gueldenstaedtia Maritima Maxim

Objective:Study the pharmacognostical characteristics and inherent quality of medicinal materials of Gueldenstaedtia multiflora Bge., Gueldenstaedtia stenophylla Bge. and Gueldenstaedtia maritima Maxim.Provide experimental data and scientific evidence for establishing the quality standards.Methods:The diversity of morphological character between Gueldenstaedtia multiflora Bge.,Gueldenstaedtia stenophylla Bge. and Gueldenstaedtia maritima Maxim. were compared using the basic methods in pharmaceutical botany, medicinal plant cultivation and pharmacognosy.The external appearance of original plant, appearance of characters and microscopic characteristics of medicinal materials of Gueldenstaedtia multiflora Bge., Gueldenstaedtia stenophylla Bge. and Gueldenstaedtia maritima Maxim. were investigated. Then, according to the Pharmacopoeia of the Peple's Republic of China (2005 Edition) the water, ash and extract contents of the three kind of medicinal materials were measured.Adopt UV spectrophotometry to analyze the total flavone content of the three different medicinal materials. The carboxylesterase band and peroxidase band of leaves were studied by gel electrophoresis.Results:The morphological characteristic of Gueldenstaedtia multiflora Bge. and Gueldenstaedtia stenophylla Bge.and Gueldenstaedtia maritima Maxim. were similar. The external appearance of original plant and the appearance of characters were submitted. The organizational structure and powder identification characteristics were also assayed. The water-soluble extract of Gueldenstaedtia maritima Maxim. is the highest.The alcohol extract of Gueldenstaedtia stenophylla Bge.is the highest. The total flavone content of Gueldenstaedtia stenophylla Bge.is higher than Gueldenstaedtia maritima Maxim.and lower than Gueldenstaedtia multiflora Bge..Conclusion:There are certain genetic differences and quality difference of medicinal material among Gueldenstaedtia multiflora Bge., Gueldenstaedtia stenophylla Bge. and Gueldenstaedtia maritima Maxim.
