Study On The Relationship Between Gestational Diabetes Mellitus And Resistin, C-reactive Protein

Objective:By determination gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)group,Impaired glucose tolerance(IGT)group and normal pregnancy(NGT)group fasting blood glucose,insulin and fasting serum resistin, Fasting serum c-reactive protein. comparing the of resistin level,as well as with insulin resistance(IR)and lipid metabolismin the relevance to explore the incidence of resistin in GDM mechanism for the role.Methods:The pregnant women were divided into three groups:30 gestational diabetes mellitus groups,30 impaired glucose tolerance(IGT)gestational groups and 30 normal glucose tolerance(NGT)gestational groups.Fasting serum Resistin,c-reactive protein and glucose,insulin during 75g oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT)at 0,1,2,3h were measured by radioimmunoassay and ELISA.Insulin secretion was assessed by the homeostasisβ-cell function index(HOMA-HBCI) , Insulin resistance by the homeostasis model insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR).The differences in HOMA-IR,HOMA-HBCI,Resistin and c-reactive protein between three groups were compared and the relationship between fasting Resistin,c-reactive protein and insulin insistance were analysed.Results:(1)HOMA-IR is higher in GDM groups than in IGT groups and NGT groups,there are significant differeces(P<0.01)between GDM and IGT,GDM and NGT,but there is no significant difference between IGT and NGT groups;HOMA-HBCI is lower in GDM groups than IGT groups and NGT groups,there is significant difference(P<0.05)between GDM or IGT and NGT;The insulin secretion index of the first and the second are lower in GDM groups than IGT groups and NGT groups,there are significant differences between GDM and NGT(P<0.01),GDM and IGT(P<0.05).(2)In the GDM,IGT and NGT group,the serum resistin and C-reactive protein level tendes to decline gradually in turn(P<0.01).(3)There are significant positively correlations between resistin as well as c-reactive protein and present BMI,FPG,,FINS HOMA-IRConclusions:(1)The increasing of insulin resistance and impairedβ-cell function may be the etiopathogenisis of GDM,which is the same as the T2DM;(2)The serum resistin and c-reactive protein level in the GDM and IGT patients increases significantly,especially in the GDM cases.(3) Resistin and c-reactive protein level close relationship with insulin resistance,and they play action with each other in GDM.
