| Background and ObjectiveAs the theory of selective photothermolysis raised, various new kinds of laser were applied in clinical. The efficacy and safety of dermovascular disease was raised a lot in consequence. This study,We evaluate the efficacy and safety of VersaPulse variable pulse width frequency doubled Nd:YAG laser at wavelength of 532 nm in the treatment of telangiectasis, angiokeratoma and cutanenous hemangioma in the perineal region.MethodsThree retrospective reviews were conducted of 125 patients with telangiectasis,24 patients with angiokeratoma and 2 infants with cutanenous hemangioma in the perineal region treated with variable pulse width frequency doubled Nd:YAG laser. We chose treatment parameter of wave length 532nm,energy 12-24J/cm2,diameter of light spot 3-4mm and pulse width 10-20ms.The efficiency was judged by comparing pre- and post-treatment photographs. To investigate side effects and recurrence by calling every patient. At last we compared whether there was significant difference between the recovery rates and effective rates of telangiectasis after different times of treatment by chi square test. So did the recovery rates of facial and nasal telangiectasis.ResultsAfter 1-5 times of treatment with variable pulse width frequency doubled Nd:YAG laser,95 cases of telangiectasis were healed and 42 cases were excellent. The recovery rate was 76.00% and the effective rate was 100.00%.The effective rates were significant different after 1 and 2 ,2 and 5 times of treatment. So were the recovery rates after 1 and 2, 2 and 3 times of treatment. There was no significant difference among the effective rates after 2,3 and 4 times of treatment. Nor were the recovery rates after 3,4 and 5 times of treatment. The recovery rate of facial telangiectasis was higher than the nasal s. Two cases developed mild provisional hyperpigmentation.None of any cases formed scar. After 1-5 times of treatment with variable pulse width frequency doubled Nd:YAG laser,24 cases of angiokeratoma were healed , the recovery rate was 100 %. No case developed hyperpigmentation, scar or infection. Two infants with cutanenous hemangioma in the perineal region have received satisfactory effect without any side effect. No recurrence occurred during a 6-month follow-up period.ConclusionA variable long-pulsed Nd: YAG laser was found to be effective and safe in the treatment of telangiectasis, angiokeratoma and cutanenous hemangioma in the perineal region. The effect of telangiectasis was obvious after two times of treatment. Most patients reached recovery after three times. The effective rate and the recovery rate was as higher as more times, but there was no significant difference after 2,3 times by statistical treatment. The recovery rate of facial telangiectasis was higher than the nasal s. This laser machine can be clinical applied widely in the treatment of telangiectasis and angiokeratoma. The authors have indicated no significant interest with commercial supporters. |
