"Body" is a complex multi-conception including a biological element and a culture meaning. Body-consciousness consists of the purpose to look on and describe body and the way of understanding body. Other than revealing body-consciousness, narrative of body called body-discourse in literature contains multi-meanings also.Hai style novels during 1920s and 1930s largely depict appearance and desire of body from a biological dimension with intricate body-consciousnesses, focusing mostly on female body. Hankering for modernity releases body's desire by overemphasizing it, ending with that body is under control of libido completely. Body without soul becomes simplex and physical while its charm is exhibited and admired in the context of modern city. Conventional notion of body which lowers body by magnifying soul causes denial to body. Different body-consciousnesses in the writings show up various body images categorized according to "family similarity" into three catalogues: "Nara" seeking for new sex moral of awakening body, "Cagia" in modern city looking after sensory feast, lily-white "Ophelia" with absent body.Hai style novels during 1920s and 1930s formulate the multiform process of body construction on social and culture aspect. In Shizhecun's historical novels, social-identity disaccords with self-identity during the construction of status as social civilization shapes body from outside with restriction while body itself assimilate social influence into inside to perform self-limitation. Conflicts between body and social culture break out when body tries to fight with oppressions. Besides, those writings portray the differences and inequalities existing in sex which endow male with the right of gazing at female to construct her as a "carnalist" or a "virgin", otherwise a "maiden-bimbo". As female turns into an object with sign of "depraved" or "beloved" on, she eventually become the "Other" to male, which essentially dues to the flesh and blood of female that is dangerous as well as seductive to male.
