Objective:This study was performed to investigate the relationship between high-normal blood pressure(pre-HTN)clustered established risk factors and homocysteine(Hcy).Hopefully ,it could benefit the early intervention with blood pressure development and target organ damagement(TOD).Methods:300 high-normal blood pressure(pre-HTN) individuals(120~139/80~89 mm Hg)and 107 normal blood pressure(NBP) individuals(<120/80mm Hg)were occasionally selected from the people who were fit for the critia. And the former was studied as study group while the latter as control group. The body mass index(BMI)?fasting plasma glucose(FPG)?total cholesterol(CHO)?triglyceride(TG)?high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)?low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) ? hemoglobin(Hb) ? uric acid(UA) ? Hcy(by enzymatic method)were measured and compared between the normal blood pressure and high-normal blood pressure groups. And then, correlationed the risk factors with Hcy.We subseqently categorized the study group two times.Pre-HTN complicated hyperglycemia and pre-HTN complicated metabolic syndrome were studied as study group, respectively. Then, compared by Hcy. At last, integrated the pre-HTN group and the NBP group. Then utilized linear regression method for analyzing Hcy and other risk factors'influence to blood pressure. Results:The Hcy value in the pre-HTN group was higher than the control group[(18.03±11.13)umol/L vs(13.21±5.81)umo/L,(P=0.000)]. And,the incidence of high- homocysteinemia in the pre-HTN group was higher than in the normal blood pressure group(45%:22% P=0.000).Spearman correlation analysis showed Hcy correlated positively with blood pressure?BMI?TG?UA?Hb,negatively with HDL-C .However, Age?FPG?CHO?LDL-C were not correlated with Hcy.In addition,we fould the differencement between male and female(male>female). However,we didn't find Hcy statistic significance when pre-HTN complicated hyperglycemia and pre-HTN complicated metabolic syndrome were compared with there counterpart(P>0.05).Simple linear regression analyzing for Hcy and blood pressure showed Hcy influenced SBP(dependents()F=22.591, P=0.000, R2 =0.053)and DBP(dependents) (F=40.516, P=0.000, R2 =0.091).Multiple linear regression analyzing showed Hcy was an important influence factor with SBP(dependents)(F=16.915, P=0.000, standardized partial regression coefficient=0.235),and age followed(F=16.915, P=0.000, standardized partial regression coefficient=0.137).When put DBP as dependents,Hcy was an important influence factor(F=21.096, P=0.000, standardized partial regression coefficient=0.274),and BMI,TG followed(standardized partial regression coefficient was 0.138,0.116,respectively). Conclusions:1. Compared with group of normal blood pressure,high-normal blood pressure group has higher Hcy leval. Hcy correlates positively with blood pressure and hasn't clear correlations with established risk factors.Hcy is an independent risk factor to high-normal blood pressure. Therefore, supervising Hcy benefites BP-control and TOD-relievement at early state.2. When high-normal blood pressure clusters risk factors, Hcy leval doesn't accordingly increase. Therefore,Hcy hasn't direct influence with the further cardiovascular risk rising.3. Hcy has some correlations with UA,TG,BMI,HDL-C,and male has higher Hcy leval than female.Probably,Hcy has some companionship relations with these risk factors.4. Hcy influences SBP and DBP,and,Hcy has the biggest effect on blood pressure than the other risk factors.5.Hcy,age,BMI,TG are the risk factors causing high-normal blood pressure, and, these risk factors have bigger effect on blood pressure than UA,FPG,cholesterol and gender.
