| Objective To investigate the incidence of various adverse reactions from the clinical course of acupuncture treatment, to analyse the factors related to adverse reactions, then directed to the clinical to reduce the incidence of adverse reactions from the clinical course of acupuncture treatment. Methods To investigate the acupuncture clinic patients of Guang An Men Hospital of Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, by the way of self-designed questionnaire to collect data. Analysed data by using described statistical parameters such as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, x2 test and Spearman correlation analysis of the data analysis.Results1.416 of 982 people(42.4%) occurred in adverse reactions.2. All kinds of the incidence of adverse reactions from high to low:aftermath of discomfort 9.7%, fatigue 8.7%, sweating 4.5%, hematoma 2.6%, headache 2.3%, halo-pin2.1%, Severe pain 2.0%, metal allergy 1.1%.3. Sweating, hematoma, the incidence of halo-pin which in the sitting position is higher than the supine position (P<0.05)4. The occurrence of fatigue and headache reflected a positive correlation with the number of needles (r=0.129,0,097,0.080,Pall<0.05); the occurrence of aftermath of discomfort, fainting, severe pain reflected a positive correlation with acupuncture stimulation intensity (r= 0.132,0.094,0.118, Pall< 0.05); the occurrence of fatigue reflected a positive correlation with the needle retention time (r= 0.105,0.139,0.063, Pall<0.05); the occurrence of severe pain reflected a positive correlation with using heat needle (r= 0.1001, P= 0.002<0,05).5.5.59%(735 people) of the patients said that the adverse reaction would not affect their choice which of continuing acupuncture therapy,18.3%(228 people) of the patients said that the adverse reactions would affect them to reduce the frequency of acupuncture, while only 1.4%(18) of patients, said that they would never choose acupuncture treatment if there is any adverse selection. Statistics obtained by Spearman correlation analysis that the occurrence of adverse reaction effecting patients choosing acupuncture reflect a negative correlation with title of acupuncture physician. (r=-0.088, P= 0.006<0.05). Conclusion1. The acupuncture adverse reactions in clinical is mild discomfort, so acupuncture is a safe method of treatment.2. Patients treated with supine position in clinical acupuncture practice in order to reduce the incidence of sweating, hematoma and halo-pin; appropriate to lessen the intensity of stimulation of acupuncture to reduce the aftermath of discomfort, fainting and severe pain; appropriate to reduce needle retaining time in order to reduce the incidence of fatigue. |
