Acupuncture For Multiple Stress Induced Chronic Fatigue In Rat Hypothalamus - Pituitary - Testicular Axis Experimental Study On Effects

Objective:1. To set up the CFS model of rats by multiple stress factors.2. To observe the change of relative hormones of hypothalamus-pituitary-testis axis of the chronic fatigue rats induced by multiple stress, including the contents of LH, FSH, T in serum and the GnRH in hypothalamus; and to discuss the effects of acupuncture on the CFS model of rats.Method:It is through multiple stress factors with constraint, swimming, day-night reversal and empty bottle stimulation to obtain the chronic fatigue model of rats. Observe the rats'behavior change to estimate the CFS model after the model groups were exposed for 28 days to the multiple stress factors. And the acupuncture group rats are acupunctured in bilateral Zusanli, Taichong, Baihui once a day for 21 days. Observe the effects of acupuncture on the contents of LH, FSH, T in serum and the GnRH in hypothalamus of chronic fatigue rats.Results:Decreases of body weight,the activities of rats in open-field test;And shortening of exhausting swimming time, as well as the reduction of contents of the contents of LH, FSH, T in serum, which showed that the models were closer to clinical manifestations of patients with CFS. After acupuncture treatment,the body weight of rats increase, the ability of spatial learning and memory, the physical fatigue and the changes of emotion are improved. And with acupuncture treatment, the contents of LH, FSH, T in serum are higher than model group;the contents of the GnRH in hypothalamus increases to nearly normal level. So it is proved that the acupuncture can regulate the dysfunction states of the HPT axis. Conclusions:1. The behavior of the multiple stress factors model rats are closer to clinical manifestations of patients with CFS. It can be used as an animal model to the CFS research.2. The dysfunction states of the HPT axis caused by the contents decrease of LH, FSH, T in serum and the GnRH in hypothalamus may be one of the pathogenesis of CFS.3. The method of acupuncturing Taichong, Baihui, Zusanli can improve the fatigue states of the rats and regulate the HPT axis, acupuncture is good method to treat CFS.
