Present research showed that tumorigenesis was not only associated with mutation of oncogene and inactivation of suppressor oncogene, but also associated with regulative imbalance of apoptosis. Intestinal carcinoma was one of the commonest malignant tumour of digestive system, but the tumorigenic mechanism was unknown. Investigating the expression of apoptosis and p53, bcl-2, bax, c-myc proteins in the malignant transformation of intestinal tissues will be help to understand the tumorigenic mechanism of intestinal tissue. The expression of apoptosis, p13, bcl-2, bax, c-myc proteins were detected in 40 cases of intestinal carcinomas, 15 cases of adenomas and 12 cases of polyps in situ by using immunohistochemical staining and TdT-mediated dUTP nick 3 end labeling (TUNEL) technique. The results indicated that apoptotic index in adenomas were significantly higher than that in carcinomas, polyps, and normal tissues(p
