| Department of Medicine, Affiliated Hospital of Medicine College, Qingdao University 266003 We applied PCR-RFLP tests to identify H. pylon in 36 cases with chronic gastritis and 45 with gastric cancer. We applied RFLP analyses of the portion of the UreB gene in H. pylon. The PCR products were digested with restriction enzyme Hind III. Results: Of 36 cases with chronic gastritis, 24 had H. pylon infection, accounting for 66.7%. Of 45 cases with gastric cancer, 23 had 1-1. pylon infection, accounting for 51.1%. There is no statistical significance between there two groups. 46.7 samples with HP infection had different RFLP profiles. Specific bands were not found in gastric cancer tissues. Conclusions: Chronic gastritis and gastric cancer are closely related to H. pylon infection. H. pylon genes are polymonphisical and H. pylon strains are genotypically different, PCR-RFLP tests are useful for detection and classification of H. pylon. |
