All of the constitutions in this high-tech product areapproved by the Ministry of Public Health in China as health medicine and food. TheExtraction of Rhodiold Sachalinensis was purified by new technique and flocculatingmethod, and the extracting conditions were optimized by Uniform Design Method. Asresults, optimum extracting conditions were as following: Concentration of alcoholwas 800/0; alcohol volume was 10 times as much as crude drug; refluxing time was 90min refluxing temperature was 85 ~C. By using chitosan-adsorbing purification, theratio of salidrvside loss could be significantly reduced, it accounted for 16.3% of that5by using alcohol precipitation, and polysaccharide content could be efficiently reserved.The content of Salidmside and ty~so1 in both extract and product was detennined byHPLC, and the existence of other ingredients did not affect the measurements.Evaluation of health function and toxicological studies indicated, after taking threedifferent doses of the product orally, loaded-swimming time, pole-climbing time ofmice were significantly prolonged comparing to the control groups, and Hb contentwas in~eased.
