Abnorsi1 Expression of CD4v 6 and run23Ml Protein in Tumor Tissues ofKazak and Han Patients 'ith Esophagea1 Carcinoma in XinJiangand Its Cl inicopathologica1 Signi ficanceDepartment of Thoracic, The First Affiliated Hospital,XinJiang Medica1 UniversityPostgraduate 'angHongJiangTutor WuMingBaiABSTRACT0bjective: 1n order to understand the clinicopathologica1significance of mul tiple genes a1 teration in esophagea1 carcinomatissues of Kazak and Han patients in XinJiang, it may offer atheoretical base for the prevention and therapy to this cancer.Methods: The CD44v 6 and nm23Hl protein expression in 77 specimens ofesophageal carcinoma tissues (karzak 39, Han patients 38) and non--tumor20 specimens were examined by iuununohistochemical LSAB technique.Resu1t: (l) The positive frequency of CD44v 6 and nm23Hl proteinwere 68. 83%(53/77) and 62. 34%(48/77) in tumor tissues respectively.There was no statistic significance of CD44v 6 and nm23Hlianunocreacitivi ty in tumor tissues between Kazak and Han pati ents wasfound (p>0. 05), but CD44v 6' nm23Hl was significant high, low thannon--tumor tissues (30%, 90%)respectively(p<0. 05). (2) Expression ofCD''v6 protein was increasing while nm23Hl protein decreasing in the'process of the development of these lesions, there was reciprocalrelationship between C044v6 and nm23Hl expression in esophagealcarcinoma was found (p<0. 05). (3) Expression of CD44v6 protein was relatedwith depth of tumor invasion(p<0. 05), but was no related withhisto1ogical grade of esophAgeal carcinoma (p>0. 05); Expression ofl3nni23H1 protein was related with histologic grade of tumor(pO. 05). (4) There were close relations among CD44v6 and nm23L11 protein expression in clinical course and lymph node metastasis was found (p(0. 05).Conclusion:(1) The expression of CD44v 6 and nm23H1 protein with high and low frequency related to tumor invasion and metastasis progressing could be identified as molecular markers for diagnosis and prognosis of the esophageal carcinoma . (2) There was no significant difference of expression of CD44v 6 and nm23H1 protein in esophageal carcinoma tissues between Kazak and Han patients in XinJiang (3) There was reversed relationship between CD44v6 protein and nm23H1 protein in malignant tumor tissues , the exact mechanisms remain to be studied.
