| The Chinese nation has a long-standing history of science of health preservation and Internal Classics is an agglomeration of health preserving culture in ancient China. The idea track of science of health preservation in ancient China could be found by probing into the view of health preserving in Internal Classic.Internal Classic attached much importance to health preservation by way of regulating emotion. And cultivating the nature, regulating emotion was connected with health preserving in it. In fact the view of health preserving in Internal Classic was the way of nourishing the heart and regulating the mental activities. And also it reflected the psychological view concentatively. This thesis was to reconsider the view of health preserving in Internal Classic from the psychological point of view, which was the classics in traditional Chinese medicine. In order to study the psychological ideas in Internal Classic, it was necessary to involve the content about health preservation. And to research the view of health preservation we should interpret and grasp it from the psychological point of view. Only by combining the science of health preservation with psychology for research could grasp the thought essence in Internal Classic-"prevention before being ill" and "saving the patient to cure the sickness."In this thesis the author was to dissertate her viewpoint in four aspects as follows:In the first part she introduced concisely the view of health preservation in Internal Classic. Contrary to the idea of "curing the sickness to save the patient" in modern medicine, Internal Classic put the health preservation for preventing diseases on the first place with the view of "saving the patient to cure the sickness". And it said that a good doctor should help one to prevent diseases before being ill. The main ways of prevention were modifying life style and regulating mental activities and emotion. In Internal Classic the principles about nature and life was called Tao. Realizing Tao, following Tao and internalizing Tao into one's own ideas were not only the essence of health preservation, but also the necessary approach of realizingthe ideal ego which was the harmony of man with nature.The second part presented the theoretical bases of the health preservation psychology in Internal Classic from two aspects. The culture headspring of the health preservation psychology in Internal Classic was mainly the thoughts of Taoism, Confucianism and Pre-Qin Eclectics. The thought of "being indifferent to fame or gain" and "doing nothing" in Taoist school helps one to free himself from trifles of complicated life and avoid disadvantageous influence from negative emotion. The conception of chi in Taoism was not only the physiological base for Internal Classic but also the theoretical base for health preservation by regulating emotion. Lao-tzu's viewpoint of "doing great things out of details" was the precondition of the preventive medicine in Internal Classic. The doctrine of the mean in Confucianism had a great influence on healthful life style and the construction of ideal personality model in Internal Classic. Moreover the thought of restraining one's carnal desires and preserving one's essence of life was the concrete exercise of the doctrine of the mean. The physiological theoretical base of health preservation psychology in Internal Classic was the essence of life, chi and vitality in ancient days. Preserving the essence of life, regulating chi and attaining mental tranquility were the physiological bases for health preservation and preventing illness.The third part brought forward the main content of health, preservation psychology in Internal Classic from three facets. In Internal Classic "the relation between physique and vitality" was used to elucidate the physiological function, mental activities and the interaction between the structure of human body and the essence of life. In the relation between physique and vitality, vitality was dominant. Lao-tze once said, "I am sick because I have my body." So... |
