Vegf, P53 Protein Expression In Ovarian Serous Adenocarcinoma

ObjectiveTo investigate the expression of vascular endotherlial growth fac-tor ( VEGF) in ovarian serous cystadenoma and its relationship to ex-pression of P53 protein and to clinical pathological parameters.MethodsSP immunohistchemical method was to investigate the expression of P53. VEGF in 42 malignant, 13 borderline 10 control - group and 10 normal ovarian tumors.Result(1) P53 and VEGF were expressed in 52. 4% 54. 8% ovrian tumor, the positive rate of p53 and VEGF in ovarian tumor was signifi-cantly highter than that in normal ovarian tumor (0,1/4) or benign ne-oplasms (30% ,20% ) ; (2) Significant hight median VEGFP53 con-centrations were found in advanced International Federation of Gyne-cology and Obstetrics ( FIGO ) stage III ~ IV, histologic Grade 3 as compared with FIGO stage I ~ II , histologic grade 1 ( P < 0. 05 ). (3)Expression of VEGF was much highter in p53 protein positive o-varian tumor than in p53 negative( P <0.05 ).ConclusionExpression of VEGF may play a significant role in the develop-ment of ovarian tumor, Deletin and mutation of p53 gene can induceexpression of VEGF in ovarian tumor, Deletion and mutation of p53 gene also play a rode in the progression in ovarian tumor.
