Purpose: To establish an animal model of TCM jaundice of Yang-Huang. Materials and Methods: We got the animal .model of TCM jaundice of Yang-Huang in rats, which lived in the damp and hot environment and feed on high-fat-sucrose diet , with the injury of liver induced by oral APIT. We observe the general biological state, liver function, humoral immunity, and the changes after treating with Chinese herbal decoction .("Yinchenhao " decoction) in rat. The model was evaluated with etiologic factor, sumptom, sign, experimental data, and the disproof of treating with herbal decoction.Result: The model of TCM jaundice of Yang-Huang in rat fit the character of jaundice, which didn't change key point marke of jaundice model, didn't effect 昪hief behavior of APIT jaundice model. The rats of the model all have the symptoms of dampness-heat syndrome and have the significant changes in experimental data of dampness-heat syndrome. The experimental data of jaundice and dampness-heat syndrome are both improved significantly treating with herbal decoction. Conclusion: The animal model of TCM jaundice of Yang-Huang in rats, which lived in the damp and hot environment and feed on ? , with the injury of liver induced by oral APIT is in accord with the TCM theory in etiology and pathology and similar with the clinical symptom in human. It is suitable and potentially useful in the study of TCM treatment of jaundice.
