Wing Bone Particles The Treatment Of Postmenopausal Osteoporosis In Clinical And Experimental Research

Postmenopausal Osteoporosis(PMO) is common among the aged. With thedevelopment of our society and the growth of aging population, the incidence ofPMO is increasing gradually. To date, the mechanism of PMO remains unknownand more researches forcus on it. Rong Gu Granule is developed from theresearch and experimental results achieved by Beijing Hospital of TraditionalChinese Medicine. The therapeutic principle is to warm and replenish the kidneyand spleen and promote blood circulation. This research studied the effect ofRong Gu Granule on treating PMO and tried to explore the mechanism of it byclinical and animal experiment. In the clinical study, 30 cases of PMO were treated by Rong Gu Granuleand 20 by nylestriol. The course was six months. The symptoms, estrogen levelof blood, bone mineral density and bone metabolic biochemical indications wereobserved before and after the treatment. The results showed that the symptomsof patients, who were treated by Rong Gu Granule, had been improved moreobviously than that by nylestriol and the former is inferior to the latter at otheraspects. In the animal experiment, seventy-nine rats were randomly divided intoseven groups: one normal control group, one model group, three treated groupsby three different dosage of Rong Gu Granule and two positive groups byanother Chinese medicine and diethylstilbestrol respectively. Having beentreated for 3 months, all animals were killed and the same items were observed.The results showed that the rate of bone resorption was higher than that of boneformation and bone transformation became faster than before in ovariectomyrats. After treatment, all testing results in Rong Gu Granule group changed muchmore obviously than that in model group. In conclusion, Rong Gu Granule can improve the symptoms of kidneydeficiency, inhibit the bone loss and protect the bone. It was demonstrated thatRong Gu Granule had dual effects on restraining bone absorption and boneformation. The main therapeutic mechanism of it might be related to the sexualhormones.
