TCM Syndrome Characteristics Of Alzheimer's And Its Correlation With The APOE Gene Polymorphism

ObjectiveWith the aging process of population, the accident of dementia has increasingly become a seriously health and social problem. Consequently, It's necessary to sum up the TCM'S Bianzheng methods of the dementia. And it is also essential to discuss the association of TCM'S syndromes of dementia with APOE genotype.Methods1 Based on the traditional and modern clinic medical information and reports about dementia, We can preliminary induce the Tern's Bianzheng methods of dementia and find the most important characteristics of syndromes.2 We randomly collected forty-one cases of dementia patients and eighty-five cases of older people in the First Hospital in Wuhan and in the traditional and Western medicine integrated Hospital in Shanghai.3 Experiment methods: After Nal isolating DNA from white blood cells, the multi-ARMS PCR method was used to analyze the apoe allele genotype of forty-one cases dementia patients and eighty-five cases non-dementia elderly controls.Results1 Both the apoEe4/4 and the apoEe4 allele gene frequency of the senile dementia group were distinctly higher than those of the normal controls(P < 0.01).However, the apoEes allele gene frequency of the senile dementia group was distinctly lower than that of the normal controls(P < 0.01).the apoEsn frequency of the senile dementia group was also distinctly lower than that of the normal controls.(P < 0.01 )2 There was a significant association between the syndrome of kidney-essence deficiency and the apoEe4 allele gene.ConclusionThis study indicate that:1 apoEE4 allele gene may be a higher risk factor to the senile dementia, while apoe3 allele gene may be a defensive factor to the senile dementia.2 The syndrome of Kidney-essence deficiency has a strong relation to the apoEe4 allele gene.3 The main syndromes of the senile dementia are these :3.1 The deficiency of Kidney-essence3.2 The blocking of seven orifices' by foul phlegm3.3 The blocking of seven orifices' by blood stasis4 The secondary syndromes of the senile dementia are these:4.1 Foul poison4.2 Hyperactivity of the Liver-Yang4.3 Hyperactivity of the Liver-Fire4.4 Depression of the Liver-Qi4.5 The blocking of both the foul phlegm and the blond stasis4.6 Deficiency of Qi-Blood supply of the Heart and the spleen...
