With the development of information technonology and digital technonology, most fields of the society and our life would be changed. The process of applying new technonology in the medical system also advances rapidly. Digital medical video and image system is such kind of system that taking digital computer technic and networking technic into healthcare department and converting medical video and image to digital data that computer system knows. The goal of the digital system is to taking replace of the analog medical video and image system now being there in hospitals. We will resolve the problems of the capturing, digitizing, processing, storing and transporting of analog medical video and medical image date.Digitizing of endoscope video and image is part of the process of medical information system in hospitals. Traditionally, the endoscope video and image take the form of analog signal. As we know, it is hard to capturing, displaying, storing and transporting through the net of analog signal. Here, the paper will tell how to make use of digitizing technique and computer technique with endoscope video and image, so that we would break through the limit of process, expression, transmiting and store traditional analog signal in the endoscope video. The paper mainly include:Chossing a suitable video capturing card firstly, make PC the video capturing console, input analog video signal form the monitor output port of medical electronic endoscope, and then, by the card, the system capture the analog video signal into digital data, at the same time, display the digital image on the computer screen.4 Stroe the doctor-wanted video frame data of the real-time captured endoscope video image into static bitmap format. We also let the digital frame of medical electronic endoscope video image could rotate to all angle for convenience of been observed by the doctors.As to the real-time storing of dynamic medical electronic endoscope video, we make the input captured digital endoscope video into uncompressed AVI format. And we can also convert uncompressed AVI format into other compressed AVIformat too.4 In order to push the captured digital medical electronic endoscope video running on the Internet, after serious study the field of medical video and image transmission, we decide to convert uncompressed AVI formate of captured digital medical electronic endoscope video data into constant bit rate MPEG-2 format that could transport smoothly through constant bit rate channel, we realized this program. For other type net channels, we discussed four different scalable MPEG-2 algorithms.At last, we turn to the topic of MPEG-4 Standard, and discuss some problems on digital medical electronic endoscope video data and MPEG-4.At the end of the paper, we present several research directions in the future.
