In recent years, brain functional imaging techniques are widely applied and extensively developed. These techniques have their own characters and strong points. For example, they can explore the structure and function of brain in vivo with no-invasion, as well as they provide the channel to explore the functional changes of brain in the level of integration. However, these techniques have their own prominence in the different aspects of temporal and spatial resolutions. The most important thing is to find the physiological mechanism of these techniques. Actually despite the extensive development in brain functional imaging techniques such as fMRI and MRS, the physiological and biochemical mechanisms involved in neural activation remain difficult to explore and to quantify. In this thesis, we implemented a mathematical model of coupling between membrane ionic currents, energy metabolism, blood-brain barrier exchanges and hemodynamics. And in deep consideration about nonlinear character of blood flow during the brain activity, we developed the original coupling model, which provided a good reference to the research of the physiological and biochemical mechanisms of functional imaging. Furthermore, we simulated the results in some typical stimulus conditions, and the results were similar to the theory results. We were able to formulate some significance of functional magnetic resonance data in our model.
