The effect of acupuncture and moxibustion to many kinds of illness hasbeen proved through thousands of years of clinical practices. But we stilldon't know what the mechanism of acupuncture is. Traditional Chinesemedicine considers that acupuncture can raise the healthy tendency of theorganism and elimate the sick tendency. According to modern medicine,acupuncture can strengthen the immune system of the organism. The aim ofour experiment is to explore the mechanism of acupuncture onimmunoregulation , to research on the function way of acupuncture in thenerve-endorcrine-immune network and the function law of common conductivesubstance.As a result, the theory and experimental evidence for clinicalmedicine can be provided to promote the development of acupuncture andmoxibustion. In our experiment the adjuvant arthritis (AA)model and bondage stressmodel were formed.Fifty six male Wistar rats were divided into threegroups:1.normal group;2.AA model group,including AA moxibustion guanyuangroup and AA electric needle group.3.bondage model group,including bongdagemoxibustion guanyuan group and bondage electric needle guanyuangroup.According to traditional Chinese medicine theory , we chose guanyuanpoint,which is thought to be able to reinforce the kidney and enrich thezhengqi of human body. After the experiment,we can draw the conclusions as follows: 1.Acupuncture could relieve the local inflammatory response,reduce theseeping out of inflammation and promote diffusate absorption. 2.Acupuncture can cause the swelling rate of the AA rats' oringinalleftfoot and secondary right foot to reduce. After prompting acupuncture, theoriginal and secondary response degree of the organism is alleviated andthe immune response function of the organism hyperfunction is hampered. 3.After acupuncture,the weight increase of the AA rats is slowed,andthat of the bondage rats is quickened. 4.After acupuncture , the content of IL-1 and TNF- α in serum reducedgreatly. It suggests that acupuncture could suppress the inflammatoryresponse of the body and enforce the immune function. 5.Acupuncture and moxibustion can raise the content of β-endorphins oflymphgland and adjust the content of thalamus and hypophysis.It issuggested that the bilateral adjustment of acupuncture and moxibustionshould be realized by adjusting the conducting function of |?endorphinsin the sydtem of nerve,internal secretion and immunity. In summary, acupuncture and moxibustion have good effect on two models£?but the function is different .Speculate that one of mechanism ofacupuncture and moxibustion immune adjustment and control is thatacupuncture and moxibustion realize the two-way regulating action throughadjusting|?-EP conductive action in nerve - endocrine - immune network .
