Dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB), is a commonly encountered disease in department of gynecology, and anovulatory dysfunctional uterine bleeding accounts for 70 percent to 80 percent. There is no record of anovulatory dysfunctional uterine bleeding in TCM, but it belongs to metrorrhagia and metrostaxis according to its symptoms. Its therapeutic methods include treatment based on categorical identification , herbal therapy on artificial menstruation cycle , combined treatment of TCM and western medicine , acupuncture and moxibustion and so on. In western medicine, pathogenesis is so complicated that its mechanism is still unclear, but certain studies have reached, for example, hypothalamus-pituitary-ovary, hormone secretion, the levels of receptor, microenvironment of uterus, and on treatment medication accommodates period and promotes ovulation after hemostasis while operation and physiotherapy focus on hemostasis and arresting cancerization of endangium.
