Wavelet analysis has the same advantages as those of Fourier analysis such as frequency analysis. While wavelet analysis break the limitation of Fourier analysis by its local signal analysis which make wavelet analysis handle signals in terms of time series and frequency series. The scale on which the signal was analyzed can be shorten with enhancing of the frequency so it can represent signals on multiple scales. This resemble to the observation of eyes which look into objects in full view then analysis objects in detail. Wavelet analysis was broadly used in fields of signal analysis for this advantage. So, wavelet analysis is of great theoretic value and practical value and it is of great value to study wavelet analysis.Skeletal age assessment is the system which estimate the health of youth according to the radiograph of hands with reference to standard models. Skeletal age assessment is a very import medical technology because the skeletal age can reflect the real maturity of youth more reliably than other biological features. Computerized skeletal age assessment system is the computerized implementation of skeletal age assessment technology, namely computer system analyse the hand hones and assess the skeletal maturity automatically. Noise reduction with wavelet analysis used in phalange recognition of computerized skeletal age assessment system can enhance the precision of skeletal age assessment.Phalange recognition mainly rely on ossification center, so the location of ossification center is key to phalange recognition. It is concluded that the phalange projection is ideal to be used to locate theossification center. The graph of phalange projection has obvious fluctuations but has much noise which will influence the results of ossification center location, so it is very important to reduce noise of projection. This paper adopt wavelet de-noising method comparing with other de^noising methods.
