The thesis includes the four parts: 1) the relationships between five Zang in Chinese Medicine and throat; 2) the summarized opinions in ancient Chinese Medicine about exogenous cough; 3) the research on the diagnosis and treatment of exogenous cough and throat cough in modern Chinese Medicine and Chinese Medicine with integration of Western Medicine 4) the research on the syndrome of"impairment of Qi in the throat" and"removal of Qi impairment in throat" as a treatment principle for exogenous cough in Chinese Medicine, as well as the observations on the clinical cases.Regarding with the first part, the thesis summarized the interactions between liver, spleen, lung, kidney and throat, based on the conclusions on throat diseases in ancient Chinese Medical Classics and in modern researches.Regarding with the second part, the thesis summarized the cause, pathogenesis, syndrome, treatment principles, and the prescriptions and etc, based on conclusions in ancient Chinese Medical Classics.Regarding with the third part, the thesis summarized the cause, pathogenesis, syndrome, treatment principles, and the prescriptions in modern times, based on many researches on treatment of exogenous cough in modern Chinese Medicine. Besides this, the thesis discussed about throat cough, which is argued by some doctors saying that it is caused by the combinative reasons of exogenous and endogenous.Regarding with the forth part, the thesis concluded that in the treatment of exogenous cough by the majority of ancient Chinese doctors,"impairment of Qi in throat" as a syndrome was not addressed enough. The treatment principles, however, seldom clearly mention about this. It shows that the Modern Internal Medicine doctors pay more attentions on Zang, Fu, meridians and collaterals, less attention on openings, which is in line with the ancient Chinese doctors. It is also pretty different from the opinions from otolaryngologists, arguing about cause of throat diseases. That's also why the thesis is interested in discussing...
