To provide quality health care services to persons whose access is restricted by geography or environment and disaster or battle situation, we have designed the system of portable digital X-ray diagnose equipment and medical image workstation.DICOM3.0 standard is the digital imaging and communication standard in medicine which specifies the exchange methods and the exchange format for medical imaging and the related information. It makes manufacturer's and user's medical imaging equipments interconnect each other through standard network and share the information, it involves even all the aspect of digital health images, such as acquiring image, achieving, communication, display and query etc. For this image workstation, it achieve BMP image which do not conform to DICOM from X-ray diagnose equipment. By analyzing the characters of the BMP and DICOM format, we convert image file from the BMP medical image to the standard DICOM image in the program based on VC++6.0. The result supplies an advantage for the compatible of the different devices and the development of PACS system.In first, this paper introduces DICOM standard and relative concept briefly, and analyzes DICOM format in detail, and how to read DICOM files. Then it takes turns to introduce the design way of each function module and the method to realize in detail and the interrelated principle. Based on the DICOM3.0 standard, using this software, to display and process DICOM images, to archive and search information including patients and images. In the end of this paper, we discuss the design of standard report module and print preview.
