Severe Traumatic Brain Injury. Tongqiaohuoxue Decoction Clinical Research

Objective:To observe the clinical therapeutic effect of the traditional chiinese herb medcine TONG QIAO HUO XUE DECOCTION (TQHXT,a Chinese recipe for nourishing blood), its influence on the blood hemorheology when treating patients with craniocerebral injury and studying the possible mechanism .And providing scientific evedince for the clinical application of TQHXT.Methods1 .Clinical Data57 cases of patient with craniocerebral injury coming from Xiangfan Affiliated hospital of HuBei College of Traditional Chinese Medcine and conforming to the dignose of GCS about the paints with midrange and heavy craniocerebral injury were randomlydivided into two groups during 2004 June and 2005 September.Treatment group contained 29 cases,and control group contained 28 cases .for decreasing difference, all the year of cases are from 20 to 50,41 male and 16 female.The age, sex, wound, and clinical symptom, etc,have no obvious difference( P>0.05), all paints can compare. 2. Application MethordsAll cases were respectively given same synthesizes measures to decrease intracranial cerebral pressure,such as sugerical operation,dehydrate,etc.Control group were taken only synthesizes measures ,Treatment group were taken orally or nasogastric TQHXT in the same time every day. Two weeks as a course,after one course,all cases were received three months' fllow-up. 3.Test Methords3.1 The Blood-routine ,Urine -routine,Stool-routine,Lever function and Kindey function were examinded to judge if the TQHXT had any side-effects or toxicity.3.2 All cases were taken test of index of hemorheology in 12 and 72 hour after hospitalization .4.ObservationObserve the change of symptom ,signs , total effective radios and KPS before or after the treatment,making a stastistical disposal and comparing the therapeutic efficiency . 5.disposal of statisticsMeasurement datas were taken t test, numeration datas were taken X2 test ,and ranked datas taken Radit analysis. Results 1 Curative effectAfter a course, rate of heal and excellence and utility rate of treatment group were 86.2% and 96.6%,control group were 79.1% and 86.4%,discrepancy has significance(P<0.05),KPS after three months has significance (P<0.05),indicate TQHXT can improve neuro-symptom long term.
