Study On Sedative And Hypnotic Effects Of Compound Jujube Kernels Capsule

Insomnia is one of the most frequent health complaints. Epidemiological surveys have suggested that about quarter of adults have moderate to severe insomnia. Traditionally, Chinese doctors treat their patients for insomnia with herbs (called Chinese Materia Medica). Herbs have been applied in China for more than two thousand years. Some Chinese herbs (such as Ziziphus jujuba) are common available in China. It appears to be a safe sedative/hypnotic choice in patients with mild to moderate insomnia.It was investigated the sedative, anticonvulsant and hypnogenesis effects of compound Semen Ziziphi Spinosae capsule in the experiment through whole animal experiment and molecule biology experiment. In the whole animal experiment, we design the model of bereaved dormancy mice, and study the effects on independence movement of compound Semen Ziziphi Spinosae capsule in mice, the anticonvulsant effects of PTZ in mice, and cooperating with below limen and limen Pelltobarbitalum Natricum hypnogenesis effects. In addition, we examine the diversification of Neurotransmitters (DA, NA, 5-HT, 5-HIAA) by spectrometers,in the brain of mice. We do the molecule biology experiment to study the effects of compound Semen Ziziphi Spinosae capsule on Hypocretin gene.Through these experiments, we find that compound semen ziziphi spinosae capsule can reduce mice movement of self-determination, cooperating with below limen and limen Pelltobarbitalum Natricum hypnogenesis effects, increase the amount of the dormancy mice and per centum of dormancy, at the same time, abbreviate the delitescence of dormancy and extend the dormancy time, anticonvulsant effects of PTZ in mice. However, it not's showed of the effects of compound Semen Ziziphi Spinosae on Hypocretin gene expression.
