Part 1Mechanical characteristics during retracting anterior mandibular teeth through implants with finite element Analysis Objective To reconstruct the three-dimensional finite element model comprising the mandibular dentition and the mandible with incorporated appliances, so as to analyze the 3-D transient trend of teeth movement, stress distribution in periodontal membrane and the largest displacement of archwire nodes in each group loaded by varying the height of implants and crampable hooks .Methods Mandibular dentition aligned with the straight wire appliances was scanned with the thin-layer CT technique to obtain the CT tomographic images, which were converted into digital images and were analyzed and processed by the specialized software named Ansys specialized for three-dimensional finite element. In this way, three-dimensional finite element model comprising mandibular dentition and mandible was reconstructed, based on which three-dimensional finite element model, consisting of brackets, archwire, crampable hooks and implants, was reconstructed. Crampable hooks were located at 10mm below archwire and implant located at 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm distance from archwire vertically and 2mm protruding alveolar bone. Ten points with 1mm distance between each point were chosen in each...
