Objective:We studied the chemical composition of the seed of Rumex patientia L in this article,we described the plants of Polygonaceae Rumex. broadly such as the chemical composition, the pharmacological action and the corresponding research progress of that.Method:The chemical constituents of the seed of Rumex patientia L.have been protested systematically by means of tube-test.It was found initially that the seed of Rumex patientia L. contain glycoses, polysaccharide glycosides, flavonoids and flavonoid glycoside, anthraxquinones , anthraquinone glycoside, phenylpropanoids, protein, organic acid and a series of lipid chemistry compositions. The chemical constituents in the alcoholic extract from the seed of Rumex patientia L.were isolated and purified using silica gel column chromatography. The structures of the isolated compounds were determined on the basis of chemical action and IR,1H-NM,13C-NMR,MS spectra.Result:Sixteen compounds were isolated from the alcohol extract.Their structures were indentified asβ-sitostero(Ⅰ) ,chrysophanol(Ⅱ),triacontanol(Ⅲ),quercetin-3-O-β-D- glucoside(Ⅳ),n-dotriacontanol(Ⅴ),hexacasnic acid(Ⅵ) ,dotriacontane(Ⅶ) , p-coumaricacid-n-eicosanyl ester (Ⅷ) ,emodin(Ⅸ),Z-caffeicacid stearyl alcohol tetranitrate (Ⅹ),etratriacontane(Ⅺ),quercetin(Ⅻ),emodin-8-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(ⅩⅢ),hyperin(ⅩⅥ),quercetin-7-O-β-D-glucoside(ⅩⅤ), glyceryl 1,3-dipalmitate (ⅩⅥ)Conclusion:The compounds above were separated from the seed of Rumex patientia L for the first time, and the compounds such as III, V, VI,VII, VIII, X , XVI were separated from this plant for the first time.
