Professor Gao Ming-li has been engaged in clinic for more than 20 years. He has accumulated plenty of clinical experience in treating systemic lupus erythematosus. He thinks that the mechanism leading to systemic lupus erythematosus is majorly on the basis of weak natural endowment, the deficiency of Qi and Yin. The desease results from the blood stasis induced by some factors. There are six syndromes, such as severe accumulation of noxious heat, arthralgia due to wind-dampness-heat, syndrome of yang-deficiency of both the spleen and the kidney, stagnation of liver-qi and blood stasis, terior heat syndrome resulting from yin deficiency and syndrome of deficiency of both qi and yin.
