| Objectives: To explore the effect of work stress and coping style on mental healthof nurses by investigate thework stress source, coping style and mental healthlevel of nurses. Provide scientific base for us to control the stress on the bestlevel, keep the mental health of nurse and improve nursing supervision.Methods: Use convenience sampling, collect the information through 4 kindquestionnaire①common questionnaire: collect the demography information;②nursework-related stress questionnaire: collect the pressure source and stress levelinformation;③facility coping questionnaire: collect the coping style information;④symptom idio-measuring scale: collect the mental health information. Investigatetwo three-grade general hospital, one in beijing and another in yanji from Julyto September in 2006.Results:①Nurses' work-related stress is in moderate level, it is mainly from "work load and time distribution","nursing speciality job","nursing",shows in "too much work","afraid of mistake","low income","too muchnon-nursing work" and etc, "too much work" is the major pressure source.②Nurse usually use energetic coping style, the inactive coping style is positivelycorrelate with pressure (r=0.221, P<0.01);③SCL-90 factor scores is lower thannorm;④SCL-90 factor score is positively correlate with pressure.⑤SCL-90 factorsis positively correlate with inactive coping style, it indicates that inactivecoping style is the major factor in those which affect the nurse's mental health.Conclusions: Nurses' work-related stress is in moderate level; "too muchwork" is the major pressure source; nurse usually use energetic copingstyle; nurse's group mind is well. Work-related stress, inactive coping style,different duty affect nurse's mental health in some degree, and inactive copingstyle is the most significant factor, It indicates nursing supervisioners shouldpay attention to nurses' coping style, and guide nurses use active coping stylesby all means, control the stress on the best level, keep the mental health of nurseand improve nursing work. |
