Objective: To investigate nurses' job stressors, coping styles ang health status in emergency room, and to describe the relationship between the different stressors, coping styles and nurses' health status in emergency room.Methods: Dates were collected from nurses in emergency room in five class-3 hospitals in Harbin. Using questionnaires of common status, stressors, coping and CMI. Describe the nurses's job stressors, coping styles and health status and analys the relationship between the different stressors, coping styles and nurses'health status in emergency room.Results: (1) The stressors of nursees working in emergency mainly come from the specialty of nursing (2.97±0.55 ) ,and workload and timing distribution (2.97±0.58 ). The highest score of. stressors is the low level of selery and warewalf(3.36±0.71 ), and the lowest was the 'confliction with nursing management' (2.24±0.53)。(2) The average score ofpossitive coping styles was 2.19±0.35, higer than common model (1.78±0.52), The average score of negetive coping styles was 1.2±0.61, lower than common model (1.59±0.66), there were have significant correlation between the average score of coping styles and common model (P<0.001)。The highest score of. possitive coping styles was 'look the positive part of things' (2.55±0.59) , and the lowest score was 'try rest and to avoid the problem'; The highest score of negetive coping styles was 'self-persuid' (2.20±0.82), and the lowest score was 'reduce depression by smoking, drinking, eating and using drug'(0.43±0.82).(3) The average score of (A-R)of CMI in Emergency nurse's was 23.21±24.52; The average score of (M-R)of CMI in Emergency nurse's was 5.04±7.60. The highest score of. CMI is urinary system (famale) (26.83%), and the lowest was disease history(4.47%). (4) The helth status of nurses woring in emergency room. was significantly negative correlation with working load and timing distribution, was significantly negative correlation with management and personal relationship; was significantly negative correlation with middle and high level of stresses; was significantly negative correlation with middle and high-level negative coping styles. There was significantly positive correlation between the score of heath status and positive coping style. Possitive coping styles was significantly negative correlation with management and personal relationship; Negative coping styles were significantly negative correlation with workingload and timing distribution.Conclusion: (1) The job stressors of nurses working in emergency room mainly come from the specialty of nursing and workload and timing distribution. (2) The average score of possitive coping styles was 2.19±0.35, higer than common model ( 1.78±0.52), The average score of negative coping styles was 1.2±0.61, lower than common model (1.594±0.66), there were have significant correlation between the average score of coping styles and common model (P<0.01)。(3) The average score of (A-R)of CMI in was 23.21±24.52; The average score of (M-R)of CMI was 5.04±7.60.(4) The health status of nurses working in emergency room was correlated with workingload, management and personal relationship; middle and high level stresses, middle and high-level negative coping styles and positive coping styles. Possitive coping styles was correlated with management and personal relationship and negative coping styles was correlated with workload and timing distribution.
