The Chemical Composition Of Scutellaria

Radix scutellariae(Scutellaria baicalensis G.)is one of a traditional Chinese Medi cine that is commonly used.Medicine is main the radix of the Scutellaria baicalensis G.in Chinese north;In addition,there are several kinds radix also as Radix scutellar iae which are applied in this genus in some regions.Radix scutellariae mainly used to anti-bacterium,anti-inflammatory and Immunoregulatory,antipyretic analgesics,Regular ion lipid and anti-AIDS,etc..The chemical constituents of scutellaria baicalensis Georgi were studied by multiple chromatographical techniques(such as silica gel chromatography,Sephadex LH-20,PTLC and HPLC etc.).On the basis of physicochemical evidence and spectral analysis,the structures of 14 compounds obtained from its n-BtOH extraction of 50%ethanol extract were identified as follows:Oroxylin-A(1),Wogonin(2),Phenyl acetic acid(3),2-4-hydroxyph enylethanol-1-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(4),4-O-β-D-glucosyl-trans-p-coumaric acid(5),4-O-β-D-glucosyl-cis-p-coumaric acid(6),Baicalin(7),Baicalein 7-O-β-D-glucuronoside methyl ester(8),Baicalein -7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(9),chrysin-6-C-α-L-arabinopyranosyl-8-C-β-D -glucopyranoside(10),chrysin-6-C-β-L-arabinopyranosyl-8-C-β-D-glucopyranoside(11),chrysi n-6-C-β-D-glucopyranosyl-8-C-β-L-arabinopyranoside(12),chrysin-6-C-β-arabinofuranosyl-8 -C-β-D-glucopyranoside(13),chrysin-6-C-β-D-glucopyranosyl-8-C-β-arabinofuranoside(14).Among yielded compounds,4 compounds are new compounds.Compounds 11,12,13 and 14 are all flavone-di-C-glycosides.In addition,the obtained compounds 3,5 and 6 are isolated from this genus for the first time.
