Objective: To evaluate the diagnosis of endometriosis using common clinical indexes. Methods: A totally 77 patients of reproductive age who were scheduled to perform laparotomy or laparoscopy because of primary dysmenorrhea or secondary dysmenorrhea, primary infertility, secondary infertility, pelvic positive sign have been interviewed on age, education, pregnancy and delivery history, period of disease, menstrual cycle, menstrual period, menstrual flow, caesarean section history, dysmenorrhea, anal pain sinkers, dyspareunia, defecation difficulty, chronic pelvic pain, infertility, positive sign, ultrasound examination and CA125(≥35u/l). The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value(PPV), negative predictive value(NPV) and accuracy either in each clinical index or combined clinical indexes were calculated by clinical epidemiological methods. Results: The sensitivity calculated in separate index is low while the specificity in pair indexes is high. The calculated results in three combined indexes increase evidently and approximate to 100% except the specificity. Conclusions: The usage of a combination of pain (including dysmenorrhea, anal pain sinkers, dyspareunia and chronic pelvic pain, if either is positive), infertility, pelvic signs, ultrasound examination and serum CA125 is more accurate nonoperative method in the diagnosis of endometriosis.
