| This paper is composed of four chapters.The first chapter is reviewed recent advances of the chemical constituents and pharmacological activities from the genus Rhododendron.The investigation of the chemical constituents of Kadsura interior and Rhododendron spiciferum were reported in chapters 2 and 3.The last chapter is the conclusion of this dissertation.These compounds were isolated and purified by silica gel comlumn chromatgraphy,Sephadex LH-20,ODS and HPLC.Their chemical structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral data.From the stems of Kadsura interior and the leaves of Rhododendron spiciferum,twenty three compouds were isolated,and nineteen compouds were identified.The classses of these compounds include sesquiterpenoids,triterpenoids,lignans,steroids,and flavones compounds.Among them,one compound was new sesquiterpenoids,and named interiodin A.Kadsura interior A.C.Smith(Schizandraceae),a plant indigeous to southern China,are known as "Ji-Xue-Teng" in traditional Chinese medicine and have been used for the treatment of menstrual irregularities,blood deficiencies,and other feminine disorders.From the stems of this plant,a new sesquiterpenoid,interiodin A(1),along with seventeen known compounds,including sesquiterpenoids, triterpenoids,flavanones,and steroids were isolated.The known compounds were elucidated as:β-amyrin(2),germanicol C(3),α-amyrin(4),ursolic acid(5), lupenol(6),lupenone(7),7-oxositosterol(8),3β-hydroxystigmast-5-en-7-one(9),β-sitosterol(10),isoliquiritigenin(11),isoflavonoids genisten(12),formononetin (13),7-hydroxy-4',8-dimethoxyisoflavone(14),4',7-dihydroxyflavone(15)and schisantherin A(16).Compounds 1-9 and 11-16 were obtained from this plant for the first time.The chemical constituents of the leaves of Rhododendron spiciferum (Ericaceae)were described for the first time.This investigation had resulted in the isolation of five known compounds,and three of them were elucidated as:ursolic acid(1),arilatin(2)and naringenin(3). |
