| To study the chemical constituents of the hydrolysate of saponin from Momordica Charantia L.Medical materials of Momordica Charantia L. were extracted by alcohol,purified by macroporous resin and MgO,then hydrolyzed by hydrochloric acid;isolation and purification were carried outby macroporous absorption resin(MAR),silica gel-column chromatography. Compounds were identified on the basis of physico-chemical and spectrographic evidence.4 compounds were isolated from Momordica Charantia L. by modern technologies of extraction,isolation,purification,identification. 3 compounds were determined as 5,19-epoxy-5β-cucurbita-6,22E,24(25)-triene-3β-ol(â… ) ,momordicoside I,β-sitosterol.Compoundâ… is found as a new compound.The optimum purification conditions of Momordica Charantia L.were determined by the orthogonal test and the content of total saponins with charantin as index was detected by the UV spectrophotometry so as to enhance the content of total saponins obviousl-y.And the results show that D-101 macroporous absorption resin collumn,the quantity of resin was 4 times to the medical material,concentration of the physic liquor is 5%,and the eluant is 5% alcohol.Through the phar-macological experiments the results prove that 5,19-epoxy-5β-cucurbita-6,22E,24(25)-triene-3β-ol exhibit hypoglycemic activity to some extent onhyperglycemia mouse induced by adnephrin and no effect on the blood sug-ar ofnormol mouse. |
