Objective:To observe the theraputic effect of PF-COPD treated by supplementing qi and nourishing yin, activating blood and purging phlegm, and picking lung collaterals.Method:The patients with PF-COPD(n=54) were inpatients and outpatients of Dong -zhimen Hospital attached to Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. These patients were given Chinese traditional medicine compounds of supplementing qi and nourishing yin, activating blood and purging phlegm, and picking lung collaterals,or Shengmai capsules and Qizhiyifei particles.Observation period is 3 months. They were observed on symptoms, signs, six minute walk test, the pulmonary function test,blood-gas analysis, hemoglobin concentration, the anti fibrosis factors contain PⅢNP and HA,and improvement of life quality. Results:Scores of the major symptoms and signs contain cough, expectoration, asthmatic, chest distress, shortness of breath, and crackling sound, between before and after treatment had statistical significance(P<0.05) except crackling sound(P>0.05).The difference of six minute walk test between before and after treatment had statistical significance(P<0.05).Fibrosis factor:The difference of Hyaluronate(HA) between before and after treatment had statistical significance(P<0.05);but typeⅢprocollagen(PⅢNP) showed no statistical difference(P>0.05).The results of pulmonary function test,blood-gas analysis:Forced expiratory volume in one second to predicted value(FEV1%),and diffusion capacity for carbon monoxide of the lung(DLCO) all had statistical significance before and after treatment (P<0.05).While forced expiratory volume in one second to forced vital capacity ratio(FEV1/FVC) showed no statistical difference(P>0.05).After treatment,Partial pressure of oxygen(PO2)could be improved and partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PCO2) could be cut down than before.Oxygen Saturation in artery had obvious improvement(P<0.05 respectively). The difference of hemoglobin(Hb) content between before and after treatment had statistical significance(P<0.05).In terms of the life quality. Both symptom expression and activity restriction had statistical significance(P<0.05).Psychological status showed no statistical difference (P>0.05).Conclusions:It is suggested that the method of supplementing qi and nourishing yin, activating blood and purging phlegm, and picking lung collaterals can improve the clinical symptoms and signs, pulmonary ventilation function, and life quality.
