Qigong Scientific Literature, Statistical Applications, A Number Of Issues

ObjectiveAnalysis of Qigong literature problems existing in statistical methods research, and to explore the qigong research ideas and use of statistical methods.Materials and methodsAs the four sets of Qigong exercises and it's operating are comparable, therefore, from the journal database search a total of 48 Qigong-related papers, papers related to clinical, physiological and psychological research are 30, which all inseparable from the experimental study, the use of statistical applications is needed, Finally obtain 22 papers. This study applied statistical methods to explore the statistical problems in 22 papers, and reference of experimental model with qigong methods.Analysis and discussionIn many Qigong paper found puzzled from initial research object quantity not norms, thus establishment random control group are not reasonable and group between's comparability is not considered; Then according to the nature of research information, select the appropriate quantitative or qualitative statistical analysis, from some studies also found that, often ignore the T test and F test (variance analysis), some studies have not clearly explain the use of statistical analysis. The final results of the expression, there are still many statistics not shown, or misunderstanding P values smaller that the greater the difference between the groups, statistical charts and tables set is incomplete and so on, which have highlighted the rational application of statistical analysis is very important.In addition, to borrow ideas and methods of evidence-based medicine, or the advanced statistics such as multivariate analysis and other methods; may also serve as a guiding principle embodied characteristics of qigong, "Two-way layout, correlated detection and mutual paraphrase" experimental research model, to improve and enhance the development of modem Qigong's scientific research. Conclusions and prospectClarify the reasonable application of statistical principles, such as setting a reasonable number of samples, set the appropriate control group, using appropriate statistical methods, as well as a clear expression of statistical analysis, the result of scientific research Qigong more standardized and thus improves the reliability of literature. The use of qigong can also reflect the characteristics of "Two-way layout, correlated detection and mutual paraphrase" as the guiding principle, more in line with the application of Qigong experimental research model can promote the development of modern medical research, expectations need to provide to the application of scientific research, as well as valuable clues.As discussed in this study only 22 Qigong-related papers, a small number of this literature, can only show one part of the statistical application problems. Recommendations for future research, collect as many relevant Qigong documents to analyze, change or innovation consistent with medical Qigong research methods, experimental design and control, and then more in-depth study of Qigong in the field of medical, Qigong is conducive to the public, and it improves people's quality of life.
