Acupuncture Of The Basilar Artery Syndrome In Patients With Neurologic Impairment

Purpose:To observe the influence of acupuncture on the top of the basilar syndrome (TOBS) patients, evaluate and discuss the clinical effect and mechanism of acupuncture.Material and method:Using research method of randomly contras, 16cases of patients with TOBS were divided into two groups: the treatment group and the control group ,each with 8 cases. The treatment group was treated with acupuncture and western medicine; the control group was treated with simple western medicine. The treatment group with TOBS was classified into different types which belong to stroke disease and was treated with different acupuncture points. The patients received the treatment of acupuncture once a day, with 3weeks as a period of treatment. The control group was also 3weeks as a period of treatment. After 3 weeks, observe, analysis, contrast the changes of the two groups of neurology dysfunction, invalid level and brain's blood speed.Results:After 3 weeks'treatment, the neurology dysfunction and invalid level were obviously descent(P<0.01,P<0.05),but there were significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05). The acupuncture group was superior to the west medicine group. After treatment, the two group patients'brain blood speed were fast remarkably(P<0.01,P<0.05), also the acupuncture group was superior to the west medicine group. (P<0.05). The total effective rate was 75% in the acupuncture group and its clinical curative effective was superior to the west medicine group.Conclusion:Acupuncture can promote patients with TOBS to recover the neurology dysfunction, reduce disabled rate and dead rate, make patients live better, and its clinical curative effective was superior to the west medicine group, it cures top of the basilar syndrome by strengthening the whole body, regulating brain blood circulation, increasing brain blood flow, and promote the recovery of brain nerve cells.
