| Process management originated in America, which was first established by IBM in the 20th century. Process management made IBM to start from the lower development to be a word-class companies. Then Process Management has been rapid development in the USA. IBM highly summarized Process Management from a theoretical angle and thought that Process Management was a kind of systematic approach, which was standardized, Business process-centric, to continuously improve business performance for the organization. Then the idea of process management was rapidly applied and promoted in field the managemant. Many well-known multinational companies have applied process management, and made quite a remarkable achievement. In recent years, process management has began to be applied in some medical and health service institutions. The medical institutions used the ideas and tools to optimize and improve service process by drawing on the successful experience in production in order to satisfy the customer's needs and their own development needs.Process management is the core that the providers analize all aspects of process, retain the valuable links reduce invaluable process from the customer's point of view to achieve each of these steps can create value for the purpose of process. Its core can be summed up as five principles as follows:Establish a customer-centric idea; Clear who are the process's customer and what is the purpose of the process; In case of sudden and exceptional circumstances, judging things from the need of customers; Concerning about the results and establishing performance standard; Making each person in the process have commin goal. Process management is opposite to the waste, which transform from waste to value in time. So the enterprises and organizations can use more simple and higher efficient methods to privide more satisfied service and productions.This paper firstly describes the origin of process management and its idelogy, focuses on the core concept of process management and tools of process improvement, decribes the theoretical basisthe use of process management in the medical institutions, then introduces the implementing steps of process management used in the medical institutions and the project analysis of process management.This topic takes the improvement of operating room's process as the key point, use the theory of process management and tools to optimize and improve the process according to the problems such as the first operation is late for time; the time between two operations is too long; logistics are not impeded. Through improved, there are satisfactory results as follows:â‘ The rate of first operation beginning on time is apparently improved, the best increase 50.2%, increase 22.6% on average;â‘¡The work efficiency of operating room has been improved. Average shorten time per operation about 25 minutes, averge shorten time per continuous operation about 20 minute. In the background that the volume of surgery increased, well optimize the process of the operation preapred. Take the 60 operation volumes per day as an example, shorten 30 minutes every surgery, will save 1,800 minutes of the operation time a day, thereby creating greater social and economic benefits.This paper try to explore how to make the core concept of process management combine with the actual situation in the hospital, optimize the process in the hospital, improve the level of medical services constantly, form methodology which suitable for hospital to improvement service process gradually.
