| In recent years, impact factors for children of the reading process has not reached a conclusion, the current systems can be divided into general cognitive system and language cognitive system, general cognitive system believe that the reading process is mainly dependent on working memory, visual perception, spatial relations and other general cognitive factors.language system focuses on morphological awareness, phonological awareness, orthographic awareness, and other special characteristics of language cognition. Former study mainly from the perspective of the same language type to study the issue, different types of language study and cross-language cultural study are relatively small. In this paper, an English "immersion" education in primary three, four, fifth-grade Chinese children as subjects, measured their general cognitive ability, Chinese and English morphological awareness and reading level, to further explore the relationship between general cognitive and morphological awareness in processing of bilingual Children's reading.In the first study, selected the third, forth and fifth grade Chinese children who receiving English "immersion" education as subjects to study its morphological awareness and bilingual reading level. Results found that children's Chinese identify morphological awareness and English Morpheme awareness at this stage has been development rapidly. In addition, at this stage the bilingual children's reading level has been improved appropriately.In the second study, Children's bilingual reading level and morphological awareness were measured. Study found that two languages were significantly related to reading level; Chinese identification morphological awareness is an independent predictor of Reading; English morpheme awareness is an independent predictor of reading. In addition to the language morphological awareness within the system there are significant predictors; there are also cross-language predictors. After control of morphological awareness in English, Chinese identification morphological awareness is an independent predictors of English reading level; control of morphological awareness in Chinese, the English Morpheme awareness has also created the role of prediction in Chinese reading.Third study measured subjects' general cognitive factors, morphological awareness, reading level. Study found that the general cognitive factors affected Chinese Children's reading exist the same part of the processing speed, there are different parts of the spatial relationships to predict the Chinese reading, and auditory attention is an significant predict factor in English reading. The morphological awareness in Chinese and English are also been affected by general cognitive factors. These conclusions are also confirmed to the general cognitive factor hypothesis and language specificity hypothesis. |
