There are many factors that influence the academic achievements. In my research, I choose to study from the variables of self-esteem and locus control to lucubrate the influences that they have on the academic achievement of High school-left students.. In this study, Adopted the methods of Self-Esteem Scale (SES), internality, powerful others and chance scale (IPC) of the 537 left-behind high school students a survey.Main conclusions of this research are as following:(1) The score of self-esteem and locus control is normal. as well as the academic achievement.(2)There are significant disciplinary differences between unknown control factor and the powerful others factor on left-behind high school students. The locus of control of science students trend to unknown control and the powerful others factor than it of arts students control of the left-behind high school students; There are significant academic achievement and gender differences between the locus of control, girls are higher in academic achievement than boys. the locus of control of boys than it of girls trend to internal controlsity, unknown control and the powerful others.(3) There are significant left-behind differences between unknown control factor and the powerful others factor on left-behind high school students, The locus of control of in parents the opportunity before high school who work trend to unknown control; There are significant left-behind differences between academic achievement on left-behind high school students, parents before high school and after high school is higher than who work with parents have been working outside.(4)There are significant grade differences on left-behind high school students. The locus of control of senior1 trend to internal controls and unknown control than it of senior3, The locus of control of senior1 trend to unknown control and the powerful others than it of senior2.(5)There are significant higher and lower level of self-esteem differences on left-behind high school students The locus of control of the higher level of self-esteem trend to internal controls, Academic achievement is higher than lower level of self-esteem.(6)The self-esteem was significantly positively correlated with academic achievement;The self-esteem was significantly positively correlated with internality factor; and significantly negatively, correlated with unknown control factor and the powerful others factor. there was had no significant differences between locus of control and academic achievement.(7)Self-esteem ,locus of control as independent variables, and take the academic achievement as dependent variables by using stepwise multiple regression analysis, I find that the self-esteem can predict the academic achievement.(8)Self-esteem as independent variables, and take the locus of control as dependent variables by using stepwise multiple regression analysis, I find that the self-esteem can predict locus of control.(9) Self-esteem can direct forecasts the academic achievement; internal control and to chance control through with self-esteem the medium of the indirect predictor of academic achievement. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Self-esteem, Locus of control, Left-behind high school students, Academic achievement | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
